My birthday was yesterday! In the past, I used to start countdowns starting in January up until my birthday. I know. Super extra, right? I stopped that a few years ago. The older I get, it becomes less of a big deal. Don’t get me wrong, I want it to be a big deal. I should be pulling a Stassi on Vanderpump Rules every May 13. I guess because I’m always putting pressure on myself to be at a certain point and as the years go on, I just care about stabilizing myself and my life. I just took the day to pray and reflect on my life thus far. I’m super blessed to not only see another day, but age another year and be physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy. Now I have 7 years left to achieve my really big goal. I’m excited because I know it’s coming. I seeeeeee it! See, believe, achieve….and work your ass off in between that.
I did take a mini, small, teeny tiny birthday getaway. I’ve been to LA before, but I was 3. Who remembers something when they were barely getting words out lol. It was pretty dope and I ate a bunch of foods I shouldn’t have. The views were spectacular! I LOVE a big metropolitan city and one that has hills! It gives such a home-y feel to me. If my bed and closet were there, I wouldn’t have wanted to leave. We had an Uber driver take us on a tour. We lucked out that he was an actual professional driver. I’m all about UberBlack. I’m so tired of getting smokey, dirty cars and drivers that don’t understand me. If I’m paying for something, I want to be comfortable. Any who, he was amazing! We went by all parts of LA, besides downtown which I completely forgot about. I did see the parts I cared about though. FOOD! Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles was so good! I had their food 3 times in 2 days. We had teriyaki bowls at Yoshinoya. I love a teriyaki bowl. So cheap, simple, filling, and healthy. I tried this cool taco spot called Calle Tacos. The shrimp tacos were EVERYTHING! It had a chipotle sauce, which I love anything with spice, and of course seafood, my fav! Last, but not least, I tried In-N-Out Burger! Although the patty was as flat as a pancake, the lettuce, tomato, and onion were so fresh and crisp! It was deliciiiious! The last night, we had reservations at Mr. Chow’s, but my grandpa of a boyfriend fell asleep and I didn’t want to interrupt his beauty rest. I’m too considerate. It’s unfortunate. What’s not meant to be, will not be, so it just wasn’t meant for me to go. Maybe next time. I’m ready to have one of the best years of my 20s. Oh, and we just so happened to see a red carpet premiere going on for The Nice Guy on Hollywood Blvd!
